DIY Mouth Rinse

January 21, 2019

I was inspired to make my own mouth rinse by a local Vancouver woman who is passionate about zero waste. You can find her at @_wastelandrebel_ on Instagram.

Shia's recipe is dead simple to make and only uses 5 ingredients:

1 cup water

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp xylitol (to sweeten, optional)

5 drops peppermint essential oil

5 drops tea tree essential oil

Mix it up in a mason jar and then pour into a jar that is more mouthwash like. I've been saving this amber glass jar for a while now and knew I'd eventually find the perfect use for it. This mouth rinse is zero waste, plastic free, and very refreshing, I like it!
