Variation within All Better Balm and Bare Bum Balm

January 06, 2025

When you're working with natural ingredients, there is always the likelihood that there will be some variation with the ingredients.

Our last batch of Zi Cao (which literally means purple herb in Chinese), was a darker purple colour. Zi Cao is one of the five herbs we infuse in organic olive oil, to be used in our All Better Balm and Bare Bum Balm. Once the herbs have infused for at least 2 months, we strain the herbs out, and use the infused oil when making the balm.

When the oil was infusing, it turned into this beautiful dusty rose colour, which you can see in the finished product! Here is a comparison of the same products, from different batches.

The colour of the balms can vary between batches because natural herbs can differ in pigment concentration, based on factors like harvest time, growing conditions or extraction process.

The colour variation does not impact the effectiveness of the products, they are the same you know and love!
