Homemade Handsoap

natural handsoap recipe

With just a few  ingredients, hand soap is one of the easiest DIY natural cleaners you can make at home. All you need to get started is an empty hand soap pump dispenser and a few other ingredients.

Here's how I make our family's hand soap:

Ingredients:

2-3 tbsp of Castile Soap (Dr. Bronner's is a good one; we've used Lavender or Peppermint in the past)

10-15 drops of Essential Oil (optional; sweet orange is nice if you're just going for scent, otherwise you can use lavender or tree tree oil for antibacterial action)

1 tsp sweet almond oil (adds some extra moisture) but you can use sunflower or avocado or olive, whatever you have on hand.

1/2 tsp vitamin e oil (optional, acts as a preservative - honestly half the time I forget to add this and it turns out just as well)

Pour the ingredients into an empty soap pump dispenser. Slowly fill to the brim with water.

That's it! It works wonderfully and without so many of the ingredients in many commercial brands.
